Meet Donna – a world rowing champion for Great Britain. At London’s Design Museum, she talks about where home really is, her passion for food and tips for bringing sunshine in grey UK winter.
Where are you from, where have you been and where are you now?
I spent my childhood in Lagos, Nigeria then moved to Canada for a few years before relocating to the UK. Home is where the family is. Apart from one sister in NYC, my mom and 3 sisters are all based here in London. We are a close family despite all the different personalities!
What’s your passion?
Donna (third from the left) in GB Rowing Team
I’m passionate about food. As an international rower I ate over 4500 calories a day! Now that I’m back working in the City I eat less but out more. I love trying new restaurants and food trends.
Can tell us your favorite secret spot(s) in your favourite city?
Granger & Co, London
Granger & Co., London serve these amazing ricotta hotcakes and an espresso, avocado and coconut frappe which sounds weird but tastes great. I’d also recommend Burger & Lobster (also in London) for drinks and the moreish truffle-mayo lobster burger.
Apart from MAMIMU Laptop Tote, what is your favourite piece(s) you are wearing today?
I’m wearing a yellow coat from Therapy London. It’s not a colour you often see on a cloudy winter’s afternoon so I love bringing the sunshine with me.
